Roast Squash and Sweet Potato Soup with Buttermilk and Blue Cheese Swirl

 

Tonight I made Roast Squash and Sweet Potato Soup with Buttermilk and Blue Cheese Swirl. I used Nigella's recepie from her christmas cookery book. Last night I was watching Nigella's Christmas Kitchen - as I do every year! - and was inspired to make her delicious soup, and I must say, It was delicious! I served it with brown  seeded bread - aswell as the cheese sauce.

The actual soup didn't have too much flavour to it however added with the cheese sauce was completly different. The soup and the sauce complimented eachother beautifully and it was overall a fantastic dish!

Apple Pie :)

I made this apple pie a while ago but forgot to put it on... so I am now.

I had it with double pouring cream, it was delicious!

Sugar cookies!

Today I got in from a long, tiring day and decided I wanted sugar cookies.  They're so much fun to make and really easy! I used the recipe in the 'Hummingbird Bakery Book' but doubled. -- I usually double recipes for cupcakes and cookies etc because anyone that walks in the door eats them.  Then before I know it, they're all gone, and there's none left for me.  So this way there's enough to share! The icing is also from the 'Hummingbird Bakery Book', it's lemon Royal icing.

Best of all, they're really yummy!

Lunch :)

I was about to eat lunch and I decided I was quite pleased with it so I took a picture to capture the moment... as I like to do with food.

Brownies... needed comfort food!

So I got home at about 11pm and wasn't in.. the best mood shall we say. So I decided that making brownies would be the best way to cheer myself up, and so I did. I finished a bit after midnight and then enjoyed eating them curles up on the sofa with a blanket watching South Park. What a great night.

Been doing A LOT of baking recently, and haven't had a chance to get on here... but I have a few pictures and will put some on :)

Overly bored.

Yeah so I'm in an extremly strange mood.
It's sunday (state the obvious) but it doesn't feel like it. It doesn't feel like it's been a day when it sort of has.. it's half five. I dont know why im in such a wierd mood and my wonderful friend told me to write a blog post, so I am.
Right now I am overly bored, overly tired, exhasted, frustrated, restless, jumbled and swooshy. I'm sure there are many more words I could use but those are the ones that came to me first.
My friend also told me to write about her, so I will.
She's EXACTLY like Dory from finding nemo. - EXACTLY. you meet her and it's like meeting the character, I love her! She's blonde- which I've always wanted :L She's HILARIOUS, literally hilarious. Whenever I'm with her my cheeks ache after because she makes me smile and laugh so much, and I've cried many a time over the hilarious things she says :L She's also a little bit beautiful:')
basically, she's one of the best friends I've ever had and I love her to pieces. <3
